Support for teens
Teen Anxiety & Confidence Support (Ages 12–18)
Teenagers today are under enormous pressure.
Academic expectations, social media, friendship dynamics, exams, and the constant comparison culture can leave many young people feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or doubting themselves.
When a teen is struggling with anxiety, confidence, or exam pressure, it can be difficult to know how best to help.

Traditional “talking therapy” isn’t always the right fit. Many teenagers don’t want to sit and analyse their feelings or feel like they have to explain everything perfectly.

The way I work is different.

Sessions provide a calm, supportive space where teens can talk openly if they wish, while also learning powerful mindset tools that help them understand and manage their thoughts and emotions.

Alongside this, hypnotherapy can offer a deeply effective way to help young people feel calmer, more confident, and more in control of their reactions.

What I Help Teens With

Sessions are designed to support teenagers who are experiencing:
• Anxiety or constant worrying
• Exam stress and academic pressure
• Low confidence or self-belief
• Negative self-talk or overthinking
• Social anxiety or friendship worries
• Difficulty managing emotions
• Fear of failure or perfectionism
• Lack of motivation or feeling overwhelmed

How Sessions Work
Every session is tailored to the individual teen, but generally combines three elements:

A safe space to talk
Teens often benefit hugely from having a neutral, supportive space where they can talk without feeling judged or pressured. Sometimes simply being heard makes a powerful difference.

Practical mindset and emotional tools
Using coaching and NLP-inspired techniques, teens learn simple tools that help them manage anxiety, calm their nervous system, and shift unhelpful thinking patterns. These are practical strategies they can use in real life at school, socially, and during exams.

Optional hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is often the most powerful part of the work with teenagers.
Unlike traditional therapy, they don’t need to analyse or “perform” anything. They simply relax and listen while their subconscious mind absorbs new patterns of calm, confidence, and resilience.

This can help to:
• Reduce anxiety responses
• Quiet negative thinking
• Improve sleep and focus
• Build natural confidence
• Mentally rehearse exams, presentations, or social situations
• Create calmer, more balanced emotional responses
Many teens find hypnotherapy surprisingly relaxing and empowering.

Why This Approach Works So Well for Teens
Teenagers often struggle to articulate what they’re feeling or may resist approaches that feel too clinical or heavy.
Hypnotherapy works directly with the subconscious mind, which is where many anxious patterns and self-doubts are stored. Because of this, change can happen without them needing to overanalyse or revisit difficult experiences.
It allows their mind to naturally build calmer responses, stronger confidence, and a more positive inner dialogue.
Many parents notice shifts within just a few sessions.

Teens often report:
• Feeling calmer and less overwhelmed
• Sleeping better
• Thinking more positively about themselves
• Greater confidence in school and social settings
• Less overthinking before exams or presentations
• Feeling more like themselves again

What a Typical Programme Looks Like

Session 1 – Understanding & building trust
We explore what’s been going on, identify triggers for anxiety or stress, and introduce simple calming tools.
Session 2 – Rewiring patterns
We begin shifting unhelpful thinking patterns and introduce deeper confidence and emotional regulation techniques.
Session 3 – Hypnotherapy & mental rehearsal
A powerful session focused on calm, confidence, and mental rehearsal for exams, presentations, or social situations.
Further sessions can deepen the work depending on the teen’s needs.
